The Doogee Nova Y100X is another smartphone in the Y100 series. This time it’s a cheaper version of the Doogee Valencia 2 Y100, featuring a 5” inch 720p IPS display with 2.5D Corning Gorilla glass but an older processor than it’s bigger siblings like the Y100 and the Y100 Pro. The screen is said to have virtually no bezels and it seems that this makes the phone just a bit smaller than other 5” inch smartphones.
It has the same kind of design as the other two phones but don’t be mistaken, this phone doesn’t bring the same performance to the playfield. An interesting feature is the volume rocker that is placed on the back of the phone on the left side. That should make it easily accessible with your fingertip, but could also easily be pressed accidently.
The company fitted the Doogee Nova Y100X smartphone with the 32-bit 1.3GHz Mediatek MT6582 Quad-core processor and 1GB of RAM. This means that when it comes down to performance, you will notice that this really is a budget smartphone. It won’t be as fast as the newer 64-bit chipsets and there is also a lack of 4G connectivity. The battery life should be pretty decent considering the 2,200mAh battery that the phone is sold with.
The Doogee Nova Y100X looks like an interesting choice when you are looking for a great looking budget device. Do keep in mind though that the hardware inside is a bit outdated so if you also want some good performance from your smartphone it might be wise to spend just a few more bucks and get yourself a 64-bit smartphone with 2GB of RAM.
